San Juan Basin Public Health is hiring an Environmental Health Specialist III to lead inspections, permitting and investigations in one or more areas of food safety, water and air quality, childcare facilities, and COVID-19 mitigation.
Employees at this level demonstrate leadership qualities and may supervise a small number of staff on a project or ongoing basis, take a lead role in complex issues, and participate in compliance and enforcement hearings and formal actions.
Incumbents, as assigned, may manage a specific environmental health contract, including ensuring program compliance, budget administration, planning and communications, and reporting.
The qualifications for this position are a bachelor's degree in a physical, biological, sanitary or environmental science and five years of related experience and one year as an Environmental Health Specialist II or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

The hiring range for this position is $24.51 to $30.64 an hour.
New hires are typically made at or near the minimum of the hiring range.
