Position Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for directing the accounting practices and policies for one or more regions. Reporting Status: The position reports to the UPS Area Controller.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Performs month-end financial reviews including revenue recognition & job cost review, equipment cost review, and operational expense reviews; Monitor production reports, invoice customers based on production, and maintain job files. Prepare and enter financial details in the general ledger Prepares routine regional financial reports and ad-hoc reports for operational review and decision-making; Assists with the preparation of and reviews monthly backlog and forecast preparation; May assist in audits and prepare audit work papers. Ensure strict confidentiality of payroll and financial records. Assists with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for all projects in a region; Provides management financial reports and the analysis thereof; Recommends corrective actions to improve the profitability of each project/region; Supports the implementation of new financial systems; Ensures that finance policies and procedures are implemented and complied with accordingly; Supervises area finance resources in the performance of the tasks supporting the reporting and analysis of financial and operational data; Prepare period-end entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses for all areas of accounting operations, including but not limited to; cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, inventory, rebates, payroll, and expenses with appropriate internal control documentation and support as required. Education and/or Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, plus four to six years of related accounting experience. Experience in budgeting and analysis. Experience as an accountant in an industrial or construction-based company would also be beneficial.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience working in construction-based accounting is preferred. PC literacy in a Microsoft environment with strong emphasis on Excel is required.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic, and geometric concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer-Based: Ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, and other software. Ability to learn new applications quickly. Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of JD Edwards or SAGE desired.
