TOWN OF DOLORES NEEDS A NEW BUILDING INSPECTOR

Job Title: Building Official/Fire Marshal

Reports to: Town Manager

SUMMARY: Responsible for the inspection of construction work, plan review, and business license inspections to ensure that the safety codes of the Town are followed. Issue building permits and respond to calls from the public concerning building and property and zoning issues. Responsible for enforcement of all adopted International Code Council (ICC) codes, referenced documents, zoning ordinances, property maintenance code and other adopted Town ordinances. Responsible for inspections of civil site plan work, water lines, sewer lines and other utilities installed in the Town.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 10 years previous experience in the construction industry ranging from architectural experience, building and trades or other codes inspection work required. A minimum of 10 years as a certified building or fire inspector I or II is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience examining building and/or fire plans is required. Fire Plans examiner or Building Plans examiner is preferred.
