POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily cleaning of Southern Ute Indian Tribe Buildings and offices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Vacuums carpeted areas, waiting room, offices, inspects and cleans spotted carpet where necessary. 2. Services all soap, towel, and toilet tissue dispensers and waste receptacle liners. 3. Sweeps and cleans front and rear entrances. 4. Cleans all doors and windows. 5. Empties and relines trash cans. 6. Mops, strips, waxes, and buffs tile floors. 7. Dusts all areas in offices and lobbies. 8. Monitors and orders supplies and materials, assuring adequate inventories. 9. Ensures all equipment is in proper working order, reporting items needing repair immediately. 10. Maintains a daily log of work performed. 11. Attends staff meetings and training as requested. 12. Participates in a positive, supportive, and team-oriented environment. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read and write in the English language. Must have knowledge and understanding of procedures used in cleaning. Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: First aid and hazardous chemical training. Valid driver's license and insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to communicate orally in a clear and accurate manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal Officials, Tribal staff and managers, coworkers, applicants, and the public. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and recognize situations where confidentiality is required. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to work without close supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds may be required. Position involves bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and sitting. Adequate hearing is required to hear/talk with all individuals. Work requires the ability to manipulate and handle items involving gross and fine motor skills. Work involves pushing and pulling cleaning equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Work involves some exposure to chemicals. Frequent communication with Tribal employees and public daily, including telephone as well as face-to-face interaction.
