San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) is hiring a Communications Director to oversee the Office of Communications. The Communications Director serves as the lead Public Information Officer managing press relations for the agency. This position crafts and distributes external communications messages (public service announcements, media releases, etc.) as needed, and works with community partners to create external messaging. The Communications Director establishes and implements the annual strategic health communications and marketing plan for SJBPH programming and activities with an emphasis on building the SJBPH brand, and increasing awareness and engagement with SJBPH programs. The position oversees the preparation of the annual report. The Communications Director oversees and manages Communications staff and leads the strategy and development of digital content for the SJBPH website, social media platforms, mass email distributions, various online mediums and traditional print communications. This role serves as a point of contact for vendors and contractors supporting the Office of Communication and communicates with and seeks funding sources. The qualifications for this position are a Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven years of experience related to the area of assignment including two years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is scheduled to close 12/06/2021, or until an adequate pool is reached. The hiring range for this position is $33.34 to $41.68 an hour. New hires are typically made at or near the minimum of the hiring range. The full wage range is included on the job description.
