Red Cedar Gathering

Natural Gas Gathering and Treating

Mission Statement

Red Cedar Gathering Company is a division of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Growth Fund. Our mission is to create value for the Partnership by being the regional leader in midstream services and striving for operational and financial excellence while keeping safety and environmental protection as our top priority. Gathering Gathering is the process of collecting gas from multiple wellheads in the gas field. It begins at the wellhead and works through the system as gas is collected into common pipes leading to treating plants and system outlet points. Treating Red Cedar Gathering Company uses amine and TEG in its treating facilities. These two chemicals remove carbon dioxide and water from the gas stream, leaving only pipeline quality gas. Red Cedar’s treating facilities are staffed 24 hours a day. Our treating facilities include the Arkansas Loop and Coyote treating plants. Compression Compression takes place in various locations throughout the system. In general, it is the process of boosting the gas pressure in a pipeline from wellhead pressure (1000 psi). By keeping the gathering system pressure low at the wellhead, more gas is able to flow from the well under its own pressure. Major compression sites include the Bondad and Coyote compressor stations. Many other smaller compressor stations are located throughout the system in strategic locations. Compression is also done at each of the treating facilities both to aid in treatment and to boost the gas pressure to levels necessary for discharge to the pipelines. Red Cedar Gathering is a natural gas gathering and treating company located in La Plata County, Colorado. Operations occur primarily on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation. Gas is produced from conventional and coal seam sources in the Mesa Verde group of the San Juan Basin geologic province. Pipeline quality gas is delivered at several locations on the edge of the gathering system for Intrastate and Interstate transport to market. We strive to be the regional leader in natural gas gathering and treating, providing premier services for our stakeholders through uncompromising integrity, accountability, and performance, while protecting human health and the environment.
