Communications Consultant
Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) seeks a Communications Consultant to plan, implement, and maintain internal and external communications for the ESD; develop effective marketing and/or informational materials; and implement and ensure that department objectives are achieved within budget guidelines and in compliance with established regulations.
PSESD is one of nine regional educational agencies serving school districts and state approved charter and private schools in Washington. Serving over 39% of Washington’s K-12 public school students, our agency provides critical services designed to ensure that our students are ready to enter school, achieve at high levels in the K-12 system, and succeed in postsecondary endeavors. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in job-related field
- Professional experience in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to personal and organizational racial equity journeys
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Publishing software experience
- Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing long and short form news articles, video scripts, copy for social media and websites with a focus on storytelling.
- Understands brand voice and can adapt writing style to meet the needs of various clients, audiences, and formats.
- Effective interview, questioning, and listening skills.
- Able to discover and elicit human interest when writing or producing visual storytelling data-driven stories
- Superior graphic design skills with the ability to create high quality, engaging communications and marketing products.
- Social media expertise from design, content, and campaign development to posting and scheduling.
- Excellent start to finish video production skills including storyboarding, scheduling, shooting, editing, and preparing files for posting.
- Experience with web design and good knowledge of ADA accessibility guidelines.
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media tools.
