Family Friendly Many things can be done to make your child's first visit fun. Our kids play in the castle, while waiting for their exam. When we can drag them from the castle, they come back and begin watching videos in the exam room. Kirby the chimpanzee shows them how to brush and floss. Buddy and Andy, the Jack Russell Terriers, enact a first dental visit with great dialog. All in all, a surprising number of two year olds are little angels at their first dental visit. No FEAR Dentistry You can be assured that there is no need to fear as your comfort is our goal. Our only rule is: No Pain allowed! We use the best anesthetic available, and we have sedation options available as well. Don't feel the need to rush as we have videos that explain every step of the process. Our goal is to make your visit conveniently short and pain free. Advanced Technology New technology has given us another gift in the form of AIR ABRASION. This instrument allows us to gently remove decay in a very precise manner while preserving the majority of healthy tooth structure. For small cavities this means up to 10 times the amount of healthy tooth saved over the old "drill" and silver fillings. The cleaned cavity is then filled with a tooth colored composite. The best part is that if the cavities are found early, before they get big, they can be painlessly filled without the annoying numbness we used to associate with dental fillings. The procedure feels like air being blown onto the tooth. In fact that is exactly what it is: a stream of air carries a fine powder against the cavity which wears away the decay. LASER Therapy. We now use a diode laser for many dental procedures formerly performed with a scalpel or curette. The benefits are many. With a laser, there is little or no bleeding during and after the procedure. More importantly, there is less discomfort following the procedure.
