Montezuma County Public Health Department is accepting applications for an Environmental Health Protection Specialist. This is a full-time 40 hour/week position with benefits. Must enjoy multi-tasking with the ability to be flexible with the task at hand. Good interpersonal and communication skills with writing, phone skills and speaking to the public. Position will be responsible for conducting regulatory inspections and educational services to enforce Colorado state law and regulations that apply to environmental and public health factors that impact retail food establishments, child care centers, schools, correctional facilities, public accommodations, summer camps and onsite wastewater systems. Investigation and follow up for any other environmental health duties as assigned or required. Bachelor’s degree in a biological, physical or health science, environmental health, education or engineering required. Professional experience of the type and nature listed in the duties above may substitute for required education on a year for year basis. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license.
