Program Aide
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), Longhorn Council is hiring candidates for part-time program aide positions of our Scoutreach Adventure Program.
We are seeking professionals willing to assist with elementary and middle school aged youth. Qualified applicants must be responsible, have excellent communication skills, be punctual,
and serve as a consistent role model for the young people they will mentor. Hours will be in the afternoon and evenings with monthly paid trainings and monthly weekend outings.
Program Aides will be working under the direction of the Outreach Executive and Para-Professional. Aides will assist in the administration and supervision of Scouting programs in accordance with all Community and Recreation Center policies and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The BSA provides lesson plans and materials needed for the program. The program fosters self-esteem, ethical decision-making, leadership skills, physical fitness, family and community involvement, and the importance of community service.
This job is ideal for those that are in college, retired, or those who are available during late afternoon and early evenings. It is also ideal for those that like working with youth. All applicants must have a mode of transportation, a willingness to make phone calls from your personal phone and be able to pass a criminal background check. In addition, all applicants must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. A preference is given to those that speak Spanish.
