Veterinary Receptionist
Frey Pet Hospital is seeking to hire an experienced receptionist. We are a seven veterinarian, fast paced, small animal hospital. We provide several veterinarian services and serve companion animals (dogs and cats mainly).
The receptionist provides the first impression of the hospital to clients and patients. The receptionist must be friendly, professional and courteous, and capable of handling many tasks at once with many interruptions. The receptionist must remain calm even when clients are upset or it is very busy. This position requires good computer skills, basic math skills and a team attitude. Receptionists must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Punctuality is expected. Since the receptionists are occasionally called upon to assist with patients, the position requires an employee capable of lifting up to 40 lb. unaided and able to stand or walk for most of the day.
Job Responsibilities
- Some of the job responsibilities include; greeting clients in a friendly manner, answering a 6-line phone system, scheduling appointments for veterinarians, collecting payment for services rendered, filing, and able to multi-task, proficient with computers, and experience with Avimark is a bonus.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to work every other Saturday morning
- At least one year of experience working as a receptionist, experience in a veterinary clinic environment is preferred.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to lift and carry 40 pounds safely
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Must have a team attitude, and be willing to help other staff in working towards a goal of excellent patient care
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle fluctuating priorities and multiple projects
