POSITION: Senior Accountant (Accountant)

REPORTS TO: Durango Accounting & Association Services, LLC Office Manager

Position Summary: This position is responsible to the Durango Office Manager (“Office Manager”) for retail and HOA bookkeeping, budgeting, client payroll management, and performing payables/receivables/reconciliations for clients. Additionally, the Accountant will be responsible for assisting with office organization, as well as other special projects that may arise from time to time. The Accountant will identify, plan and implement the objectives set by the CEO and Office Manager to ensure the organization’s overall effectiveness.

Essential Duties:

1. Accounting a. Responsible for the adhering to the company’s fiscal policies and procedures b. Office organization, including files management for both online and physical files for the Durango location c. Monitor emails and effectively communicate to clients and staff d. Perform major accounting functions for clients (and other owned entities), including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and credit card reconciliations, sales reporting, posting journal entries, and deliverable reports from QuickBooks to clients e. Ensure accuracy and completeness of clients’ payroll and make related journal entries f. Responsible for retail client bookkeeping & oversight in Durango and Telluride, CO, including sales tax filing, if applicable g. Responsible for month and year-end review and closing procedures h. Work with the Office Manager to create annual client budgets and present to clients and/or Boards, as needed i. Provide support for the COO and Office Manager with Community Association Management tasks j. Client QuickBooks Online setup, including integration of point of sale software and other necessary applications (ex: Zapier, Webgility, Shopify) k. Attend and review minutes for all community association management meetings, as needed l. Responsible for maintaining client’s financial records, including pulling monthly reports for clients m. Data entry for accounting activities n. Investigating data inconsistencies o. Ensure proper time tracking in MaintainX and assist with client billings

2. Other Duties as Assigned a. Represent Durango Accounting & Association Services, LLC and Telluride Consulting, LLC in the community and manage effective relationships with clients.

Job Requirements: 1. A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience 2. Retail accounting and for-profit bookkeeping experience 3. QuickBooks Online experience, QBO certification preferred 4. Strong leadership, management, interpersonal and organizational skills 5. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and/or 3 year professional work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Pay range $28-37.50 per hour
