At Deer Hill Expeditions, our full-time and seasonal staff are the essential element in all our programs and the heart of our organization. At Basecamp, Interns keep the show running. They pack for expeditions and drive equipment to resupply sites. They help put delicious meals on the table, and prepare gear for use, gaining an introduction to the inner workings of an outdoor education company. Our field staff’s knowledge, compassion, dedication and experience are the driving force behind the inspiring wilderness and service expeditions we create for young people. Hard at work year-round, Deer Hill’s administration oversee the operations of the business and facilities, manage communications and admissions, and the hiring and training of staff. This group of dedicated interns, field staff, and administrative personnel works as a community to offer expeditions full of heart, challenge, joy and growth.

Admissions Manager

The Admissions Manager supports families and groups through the process of enrolling and preparing for all programs with Deer Hill. They respond to inquiries, screen for an appropriate fit, document communications, manage medical and legal files, and prepare program staff with relevant participant and group information. This position manages follow-up correspondence with alumni, and works to expand Deer Hill’s reach to new participants in key market areas, by creating and developing relationships with outreach partners and supporting organizations. Deer Hill’s operating season is fast-paced and includes long days. This position requires dedication, active leadership, clear communication skills, mentoring skills, initiative, patience, and humor. The ideal candidate is attentive to details and deadlines, organized, self-motivated, and adaptable. $35k-$41k, full-time/year-round. Position open until filled.

Operations Manager

Deer Hill Expeditions (DHE) is seeking to hire a skilled, motivated and experienced individual for the Operations Manager position. This position plays an integral role here at Deer Hill connecting many of our departments together. Primary responsibilities include logistics implementation, managing seasonal interns, and maintenance of program gear and equipment. Deer Hill’s operating season is fast paced and includes long days. This position requires dedication, active leadership, clear communication skills, mentoring skills, initiative, patience and humor. $35k-$41k full-time/year-round. Position open until filled.

Programs Manager

The Programs Manager (PM) is responsible for the successful planning and implementation of all Deer Hill programs, As the Lead for the Programs Department, the PM works closely with the Operations Manager and Kitchen and Food Manager to implement programs, and works closely with the Staff Manager to manage risk. The PM holds the big picture vision for program implementation in managing permits, and scheduling all routes, vehicles, and gear. This position requires dedication, active leadership, clear communication skills, mentoring skills, initiative, patience, and humor. The ideal candidate is attentive to details and deadlines, organized, self-motivated, and adaptable. $36k-$41k, full-time/year-round. Start date late fall - flexible. Housing may be available!
