Public Works Superintendent
The City of Cortez is accepting applications for a Public Works Superintendent.
Responsibilities include managing and supervising streets and water crews; assisting the Public Works Director in development of overall operational policy, management, and oversight of operations, and management and construction work performed by the Public Works crews. Trains employees to operate equipment and tools; operates heavy equipment for streets and water maintenance when needed; supervises and hires personnel for streets and water division; monitors expenditures and assists with budget development.
Qualifications are: ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; knowledge in the use of equipment and maintenance of equipment; broad knowledge of streets and water distribution operations, repair, and construction; must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
