In-Patient Clinical Dietitian Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, CO is looking for a full-time Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide excellent patient care in an acute care setting.
Mercy is an 82-bed regional hospital and the In-patient RD provides care in all units including ICU, NICU, Med/Surg, and Ortho/Spine.
Must have ability to provide effective nutrition interventions across multiple demographics and acute diseases.
In addition, the In-patient RD will work with food production and dietary staff to coordinate meal and supplement delivery according to diet and supplement orders and work to maintain quality meals and service according to company policies and guidelines.
Qualified applicants will: *Be a Registered Dietitian (RD/ RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
*Have previous experience using the nutrition care process and electronic medical records charting
*Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely in a multidisciplinary team setting as well as communicate compassionately and effectively with department and hospital staff.
*Demonstrate flexibility with work schedule and assignments and assist with department projects as needed.Essential Functions:
*Provides patient focused, comprehensive nutritional care in accordance to evidenced based research and practices
*Conducts timely and appropriate nutritional screening and assessment of patients, designs and implements nutrition care plans, and effectively monitors patient throughout duration of stay.
*Works with interdisciplinary team to develop individualized nutrition care plans based on patient's age, sex, diagnosis, cultural background, preferences, and religious practices.
*Conducts audits and/or menu reviews and ensures patient menus meet nutritional requirements for variety of diseases and conditions.
*Documents in the medical records as appropriate and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as those of Centura Health and Mercy Regional Medical Center (i.e.
Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, CMS, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel)
*Coordinates activities with the food production and dietary teams to ensure quality and accuracy of the food served to the patients.
*Checks for quality of product and is responsible for corrections and quality follow-up w/ manager/supervisor, staff, or vendor.
*Participates in the development and implementation of quality, service and performance improvement processes related to the delivery of clinical nutrition services.
*May provide in-service training to staff.
*Performs other related duties as necessary
